Day 1 문장을 며칠 소리 내어 연습해보니, 확실히 화상회의에서 말이 좀 더 자연스럽게 나오는 느낌이었어요. 오늘은 검증(validation) 전 단계, 그러니까 분석법을 아직 개발하고 최적화하는 중인 상황에서 클라이언트에게 업데이트를 전달하는 표현들을 정리해봤습니다.

클라이언트에게 주간 업데이트를 전달하는 상황을 상상하며, 아래 문단을 보지 않고 말해보는 게 목표입니다.

Over the past week, we've evaluated several mobile phase compositions and optimized the gradient conditions. The latest method shows improved peak separation and better peak symmetry compared with the previous version. Day 1보다 문장이 좀 더 길게 느껴져서, 저는 이번에도 끊어 읽는 지점을 미리 표시해두고 연습했어요. "compared with the previous version" 앞에서 한 번 쉬어주니 훨씬 안정적으로 들렸습니다.

발음 포인트

• gradient → GRAY-dee-ent

자주 하는 실수 고치기

"looks good"이나 "became better" 같은 표현을 저도 무심코 자주 썼는데, 오른쪽처럼 바꾸니 같은 내용이라도 훨씬 신뢰감 있게 들린다는 걸 느꼈습니다.

어디서나 쓸 수 있는 문장

"The preliminary results are encouraging, but we'd like to confirm the findings with additional experiments before drawing a final conclusion."

확신은 주되 과장하지 않는 톤이라, 거의 모든 진행 상황 보고 자리에서 무난하게 쓸 수 있는 문장이라고 생각합니다.
